River, Rain, Cows and Flowers

We have been having a lot of afternoon and overnight rains recently but even more than here in the basin that is Cuenca, the mountains around us have been getting deluged. We took a walk up to Popacuchu Cafe yesterday since our power was out (yes, it's been over 6 weeks and they are STILL working on the new power poles on our street).

We usually walk on the river side of the street, enjoying the views and casual stroll a bit further from the traffic. I snapped a lot of photos with my iPad Mini and thought it would be fun to compare them to some I took last month.

Here is what the river has been looking like...


And here is what it looks like right now...




If you look closely at the last photo, you can see the river is over the tall grass that had been growing along the banks. You also can't see the rock sides of the river as you could above.

I snapped a couple of dandelion photos...just to show how they are here, too. And caught a tiny bee doing what bees do best!


Today the cow was directly in our path...she eyed us warily and snorted as we walked past. LOL!

And a little flower caught my eye...

Finally, everything has been sold (although some things will be picked up during our last three days here in Cuenca). It's been quite a ...
